We want to make sure you have no doubts and that renting with us is the right choice. To ensure this, we provide a list of the most frequently asked questions so that you’re never left without an answer.
You need to present valid documents (ID card or passport) and a valid driving license. The driving license must be older than 18 months, and the driver must be over 20 years old (with some exceptions).
The minimum rental period is 48 hours (2 days). Even if you only want a car for one day, the 2-day rate will apply. The longer you rent, the cheaper each daily rate can be, up to a certain limit.
When you make a reservation, you automatically receive a “pending” status. You must wait for confirmation from the central office, which will send all the information to guarantee the booking (the amount is deducted from the total). All details must be complete and correct, matching the car pickup information.
If not, the reservation will be canceled without refund. The full name must be entered correctly. A confirmed reservation remains pending until 1 hour before pickup; after that, without notice of delay, the reservation is automatically canceled.
Your car follows a preventive and corrective maintenance plan according to the manufacturer, but in case of any unforeseen issues, you can call the 24-hour travel assistance included in your policy.
In case of an accident, provide the contact details of all parties involved and witnesses. If third parties are involved, fill out the amicable statement correctly. You should also call the police (112) and notify Flashrent about the incident.
You can pay with debit card, MBWay, or cash (euros). Payment must be made at the time of vehicle pickup. After pickup, only in specific cases — accident, sudden illness, or vehicle anomaly with no available replacement — Flashrent may refund all or part of the payment. Credit cards may include extra fees, which are applied accordingly.
Reservations are always confirmed by segment. Flashrent will try to provide the selected vehicle or, if not possible, another with equal or higher characteristics.
These details are stated in the contract. If the fuel level is not respected, a refueling fee will be charged. Cleaning is not included in the daily rate; professional cleaning and disinfection may incur additional costs.
Yes, it is possible, but an extra one-way fee will apply.
Extensions can only be done in person. The contract allows a 30-minute grace period. After this, additional fees are applied in 24-hour increments.
Smoking is prohibited in all vehicles. Evidence of smoking will incur a penalty.
All FlashRent Vehicles are equipped with Via Verde electronic device according to Portuguese Law Decree-Law No. 84-C/2022. In Article 27 and effective January 8, 2023, pursuant to Decree-Law No. 84-C/2022 of December 9.
Only the people listed in the rental contract as primary or additional authorized drivers can drive the vehicle.
Flashrent provides all types of child seats, which must be requested at the time of booking.

To drive your car outside the Country (Spain only), you have to inform our Team in advance and pay for the extra fee CROSS-BORDER.
Unlimited mileage in Portugal. In Spain, the first 300km are free; beyond that, a fee of €0,40 per km applies.
All FlashRent vehicles are inspected, cleaned, and disinfected for every customer. We provide the best care and maintenance services to ensure a safe holiday for all.
If automatic transmission vehicles are unavailable, please make sure you know how to drive a manual transmission. In the event of a stall or complete clutch failure, the customer is responsible for any payment or replacement costs.
